Shopping, Crafting, and Organizing

So Sara and I had a ritual this summer of spending most Saturday mornings shopping at garage sales and Goodwill...well Sara was at Kings Island so I spent the the morning going shopping by myself. I scored some great finds...even some Christmas gifts!
Here were some of the finds:
These were pillows I got from Goodwill--originally from Target--I got them for $5.00 for all 3!

3 sweaters--$3.50 a piece and 2 skirts--$2.00 a piece from Goodwill!

This is a bag that a family from my center that recently left gave me as a going away present. Cute style--but the embellishments...so not me. So I revamped it to be more me!

So I have lately been reorganizing and styling my scrapbook area--decided that I wanted an open feel and to be able to see all my products--so my inspiration was glass jars and metal containers. Most of the purchases are from garage sales and Goodwill.

This is my letter storage area...the top drawers hold my chipboard alphabets and the bottom drawers hold my ABC foam and rubber stamps. On top of the drawers are my ribbon jars.
This spice rack was a garage sale find and holds my little embellishments, sorted by color. The other jars hold my floss and fibers, and my most used tools.

These cups hold my markers and pens sorted by color.

This shelf holds common used things: tools, paint supplies, and pictures.

These containers hold my ABC stickers, stickers, and themed papers.

These are all my stamps--rubber and acrylic.

This crate holds my in progress projects and unfinished albums.

These are all my embellishments and supplies sorted by color. On top of this shelf is random supplies.

This is my inspiration wall...these people, my family are the ones who inspire everything I do.

These are my papers--sorted by color--and my die cutting machine and supplies. The paper crate on the left is full sheets (12x12, 8.5x11, 8x8) and the crate on the right is scraps.

This is one of my favorite items in the room--idea stolen from Sara--a bright green metal
ironing board turned into a magnetic board.
When I feel that the room is done I will update with finished pics!

Being Photographed

So Sunday at D'vine I let Te take pictures...now I gave him very little instructions...only two to be exact...
1. Hold down the button for a long time
2. Make sure you can see Betsy on the screen
So the pics weren't bad...interesting but not bad

These are some that I took of my favorite photographer! This is a true Te pic...in play mode-laughing and giggling!
Love that it's just about the eyes!

The photographed and photographer together!Te deciding that my head was a good place to rest his feet!Again such a giggly face!

Baby Weekend

This has been a crazy weekend! Kalla came in last night for a visit and today we had a baby shower for her with friends from Cincinnati. Caidan did great...he was such a happy baby and as long as someone was holding him he didn't mind being passed from person to person!Brooke getting to hold the little mister!

Sleeping through a shopping trip to Target.
Getting ready for the shower I spent a lot of time at Mom and Dad's and with Seth...so I took the oppurtunities of getting some new pics. He is getting so big!
This is his pug face...Sara makes him do it and it is HILARIOUS!
He loves to sit out on the porch and watch the cars go by and the planes fly overhead.
He is such a happy baby...always smiling and giggling!

Also, uploaded additional pictures of Caidan and Seth on Picasa--link on right.

I Have the Best Husband...

So I am sitting in my classroom at work on Wednesday when the receptionist comes back and says I am needed up front...at this point I get worried because I had just gotten off the phone with one of our directors. I asked our receptionist if something was wrong and she says she doesn't know. So I walk to the front and both my directors are there...really worried now...then I see next to them...Keith with flowers!
Keith had had a meeting up by my work, picked up flowers and came to see me just because! He is the best! I got to take him on a tour of Creme, to which he exclaimed, "It's like Disney World!"--it isn't, but it can be shocking the first time you see it.
Getting flowers from Keith for no reason made all the other women jealous and said they were going to go home and tell their husbands/boyfriends about it!
I love my MeHun!

The Weekend

So Keith has started a new job at AT&T and that job started with him being away for two weeks in Columbus for training. He came home for the weekend in between...but it was still a long time to be apart. He is home now and I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited to have him back! :)
Then this weekend Keith's sister came into town for the first time in 2 years and it has been so much fun hanging out with her. I haven't taken any pics yet, but I promise I will!
Another fun highlight of my weekend was shopping at the Gap Outlet Sidewalk Sale...most of the stuff I bought was for gifts...but still so much fun! Also, Target put new scrapbooking stuff in their $1 section and I love it all...and picked up one of almost everything...with plans to go back for more. Tomorrow I head to the thrift store for 50% off everything sale! Yay!

2 years!

I am so happy that I have got to spend the last 2 years-730 days with my amazing husband! Each day with him has been the best I have ever had and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
I love you, my mehun and happy anniversary!

He will be one of us!

It's official...as of Monday, August 6, we were matched with Arrick Andrews (this simply means that we can provide what he needs and are able to adopt)...so sometime after January 11, 2008 Arrick Andrews will become Seth David Arrick Green.
This boy is so cute and has won all of us over in the short amount of time he has been in our lives.

Caidan Alexander

So this weekend I got to meet the cutest little boy ever...Caidan Alexander Ronning.
He is just so cute and he loves to cuddle and he loves to be held. He is such an easy going baby and just so darn cute...I tried to leave with him this morning but his mommy and daddy wanted him so I gave him back but it was so hard to do.
Here are some pics of our weekend!Uncle Arrick and Caidan doing what they do best....SLEEPING!

Uncle Arrick tried to eat Caidan when all we wanted was a picture!

The good picture...no eating nephews allowed!

Kalla and Chris taught there dog to take the pacifier...and she really loved it!

My biggest competition when it came to holding Caidan...Auntie Sara.

I could have held him for ever and ever!

Up, up, up and away Caidan Baidan!

Aunt Betsy and Caidan are the best of friends!

Caidan finally let us know that he had had enough and no more pictures were going to be granted!

Like Mother, Like Son

Anyone in our family has said from the beginning that Caidan looks like Kalla...so that you may see I have a baby pic of Kalla (she's going to kill me!) and a picture of Caidan so that you can compare and make your own opinion on the matter...6 days and counting until I get to hold and cuddle the little man!

7.26.2007

I love him...

I have not even met my new nephew yet...only 9 more days...but because his mommy and daddy are great at taking pictures I feel like I haven't missed anything and have fallen in love with this cute kid!

7.23.2007

Love this boy...

Here is just a quick page I put together of the Ronning Family...home from the hospital and adjusting to their new lives!

I have a nephew

CAIDAN ALEXANDER RONNING was born on Wednesday evening, July 18, 2007. As I am in Cincy and my family is in Illinois most of the details are fuzzy. He was delivered by c-section perfectly healthy, it had just been too long. I will post more info and pics as I receive, as well Kalla as soon as she is able at http://www.kallagreen.blogspot.com/
Please keep Kalla in your prayers as she recovers and keep Chris, Caidan, and Kalla in your prayers for a smooth transition.

My last day...

It was so much harder than I thought. I miss my kids...and the hard part was I don't think they understood what was happening...they were just excited to have a party--cookies, ice cream muffins. And they just loved having their photos taken. I miss them so much!!!!!!
My new job is great but infants can never take the place of my WeeSchoolers...no child ever will.
Here are some of my favorite shots from my last days!
This is me and Andrew Elfers...Andrew moved up to the 3s room a few months ago from my room, but he is still one of my favorites and would always give me a hug when he saw me!

This is Zain...or Zain Man as we call him. This kid is a parrot and will repeat anything and continue to say anything until someone acknowledges him!Oh, Zachary! This kid told his mom once that, "Ms. Betsy is HOT!" He was always saying, "I love you, Ms. Betsy!" usually followed by, "And I love Garrett!" (one of the other boys in our class.

Brady, Brady, Brady...one of the cutest three year olds I know and has the biggest attitude...there is no one that cannot love this kid...he is just too cute...and he knows it!

Quinten Kaylor...or as he says, "Kinten Kaywer!" I love this kid, he is hyper and crazy, but can be the biggest cuddler and so easy to love.

Morgan Witten (the one I'm hugging) and her older sister, Taylor. These were my girls and saying bye to them was almost my breaking point...Taylor was practically in tears and I was close to.
